The College of Nursing, represented by the Community Service Unit, provided awareness-raising on the osteoporosis of older persons and how to prevent it at the primary health-care centre in Al-Baibah, where students addressed the causes of osteoporosis, the extent of osteoporosis among Saudi society and the risk factors, and the importance of the role of healthy food in preventing it, with emphasis on the importance of exposure to sunlight and exercise, especially after the age of 50.


The event concluded with a statement by the Director of the Health Centre, in which he thanked the University for its leading roles in raising the level of health awareness of the community. The management of the Centre was honoured by the College and was completed at 12 noon.
